Mini food pantries have been set up around Helena to provide emergency food and hygiene products for our community. Our goal with this fundraiser is to create a sustainable way keep the pantries stocked. The use of the pantries is growing as the economy slows down and prices surge. Cuts to snap benefits this year are also increasing food insecurity.
Statistics from last year already showed 1 in 7 Helena residents struggle with hunger and 1 in 5 Helena children didn't know where their next meal is coming from (per Helena food share's website). This school year in Helena, over 400 children have been without stable housing.
There are currently 5 pantries that we regularly stock, along with helping the pantries at the high schools. Please help us sustain these pantries and fill a need in the community.
