Support Heji’s Refugee Photography
Donation protected
My name is Heji.
I’m a Kurdish refugee and documentary photographer based in the UK. I focus on capturing the hidden and human stories of asylum seekers, refugees, and people affected by displacement.
My journey began inside Napier Barracks, where I once lived. I started taking photos to show daily life — not through headlines, but from the inside. The images I captured revealed quiet, real moments that are often ignored.
Since then, my work has been shared widely and has touched people who care about justice and truth. I realized that photography is not just my passion — it’s my voice.
I’m not a professional or trained photographer. I’ve never had funding or the right equipment. But I’ve used what I have — my phone, my eyes, and my heart — to tell stories that matter.
I’m creating this fundraiser to help me continue my work. This is not for one event — it’s long-term support so I can:
• Purchase a proper camera and photography equipment
• Travel to refugee communities and document real lives
• Cover tools and costs for editing and archiving my work
• Take part in exhibitions, workshops, and trainings
If you’ve ever seen one of my photos and felt something — this is your chance to help me keep going.
Whether it’s a donation or sharing this campaign, thank you deeply for standing with me.
