Hi everyone, my name is Heidi.

Life threw me a curveball recently when I had to undergo an unexpected emergency appendectomy. As a two-income family, we’ve always managed to get by, but being out of work for the next few weeks has put us in a really tough spot. While I will receive short-term disability through my job, it won’t cover my full pay, and it won’t start right away. On top of that, we’re now facing a large medical bill.

We had already planned a small birthday trip for Kayden this weekend — something we were so excited about — and put it on credit before any of this happened. Now, between medical costs, regular bills, groceries, gas, and trying to make sure Kayden still has a special birthday, things feel overwhelming.

We don’t have family support to lean on, so we’re relying on the kindness of friends and our community. If you are able to donate, please know that every dollar will go directly toward essentials: bills, groceries, gas, and making sure Kayden can still enjoy his birthday.
