Support Heidi Parker's Fight Against Colon Cancer

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We’re reaching out to rally support for an incredible woman—Heidi Parker—as she battles stage 4 colon cancer with strength, grace, and unwavering determination.

Heidi is a devoted wife to Trent Engebretson, a loving mother to four adult children, and a proud grandmother to one grandson—with another expected in August. Family means everything to Heidi, and she’s fighting hard to be here for every precious moment still to come.

Since late 2024, Heidi has undergone a series of tests to uncover the cause of her health issues, which ultimately led to a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis in early 2025. She is now receiving aggressive chemotherapy every two weeks—all while continuing to work at a local vision care center. Her strength, perseverance, and positive spirit in the face of such a difficult journey are truly inspiring.

Heidi is deeply rooted in her community and has always given back—having previously served on the Belle Fourche, SD City Council. Now, it’s our turn to give back to her.

In late June or early July, Heidi will undergo important testing to see if the chemotherapy is working. If so, she will proceed with surgery in Omaha—a crucial step that brings more financial strain, including:

• Travel and lodging for ongoing medical appointments and procedures

• Recovery time away from work

• Reduced household income

• Two years of annual insurance deductibles out-of-pocket

Despite these challenges, Heidi continues to face each day with courage and optimism. This fundraiser is intended to help ease the financial burden so she and Trent can focus on healing and spending meaningful time with their growing family.
