Help Heather Find a Safe New Home
Heather is a lifelong North Carolinian who has called Carrboro home for the past 20 years. After two decades in the same apartment, they are now facing serious health hazards in their home that have made it unsafe for them to remain there. Heather is being forced to leave the place they have called home for so many years and needs our community’s support during this difficult transition.
Heather is a passionate community activist who has spent years contributing to and caring for the Carrboro community. They are a member of Club Nova, the Inter-Faith Council, and the Marian Cheek Jackson Center, and have built meaningful connections throughout the community.
Heather is also a devoted cat lover and the proud owner of an orange tabby named Willow, who will be making this transition with them. Finding safe, stable housing where they and Willow can feel secure is especially important.
After 20 years in one home, having to suddenly relocate is overwhelming—both emotionally and financially. Funds raised will help Heather cover the costs of moving, securing new housing, and creating a safe and stable home for both, themselves and Willow.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would also mean so much to Heather and their community. Thank you for helping Heather through this transition and supporting someone who has spent so much of their life giving back to the Carrboro community.
