After many years of caring for sick children and families here in Spokane, I am excited to have the opportunity to go on my first medical mission trip this fall. From Sept 13th through 27th, I will be traveling with a team to Cairo, Egypt to provide medical care to Sudanese refugees and others who are low-income and do not have adequate access to health care. We will put on approximately 7-8 clinics which will serve a total of approximately 1,000 people during the time we are there. The people who come to the clinics will be seen by our doctors, nurse practitioners, and RNs and will be provided with medications as needed. We will also help organize follow-up care/hospitalization as needed.

As a team, we are raising $11,000 for medications, supplies, and any additional hospital fees if a higher level of care is needed. This fundraising is in addition to personal travel expenses, food, and lodging on our non-clinic days.
