Campaign Goal: $300,000 to Bring Healing and Hope Through Art to Atlanta’s Underserved Communities
Help Us Transform Lives Through Art Therapy in Atlanta’s Public Housing and Mixed-Income Communities
Did you know that over 23,000 families are living in 90 public housing-assisted and mixed-income communities across Atlanta? These families, many of whom are low-income working households supported by Housing Choice Vouchers, face daily struggles that impact their mental health and overall well-being. Among the most pressing issues are:
- Chronic Stress: Financial instability, housing insecurity, and the pressures of everyday life contribute to high stress levels that are often left untreated.
- Limited Access to Mental Health Services: Affordable mental health care is out of reach for many, leaving conditions like anxiety, depression, and trauma unaddressed.
- Social Isolation: The burden of making ends meet can lead to feelings of isolation, deepening the mental health crisis within these communities.
Our Solution: Community Painting Sessions as a Pathway to Healing
We believe that art can be a powerful tool to address these challenges. Our goal is to launch a series of Community Painting Sessions across these 90 communities in Atlanta, providing a safe and supportive environment where residents can:
- Express Themselves Creatively: Art allows individuals to convey emotions and experiences that words cannot capture.
- Experience the Healing Power of Art Therapy: Guided by professional facilitators and art therapists, these sessions will offer a therapeutic outlet for those dealing with mental health challenges.
- Strengthen Community Bonds: These events will foster connections among residents, reducing feelings of isolation and promoting a sense of belonging.
Why We Need $300,000
To make this vision a reality, we need your support. Here’s how your contribution will help us reach our goal:
- $100,000 for Art Supplies and Materials: This will cover canvases, paints, brushes, and other necessary supplies for all 90 communities.
- $120,000 for Facilitators and Art Therapists: We will engage qualified professionals to lead the sessions, ensuring that participants receive the full benefits of art therapy.
- $50,000 for Community Engagement and Outreach: These funds will help us organize and promote the events, ensuring high participation and lasting impact.
- $30,000 for Program Administration and Sustainability: This will ensure that we can manage the program effectively and sustain it for the long term.
