Hi, I’m Chris Davis. 6 years ago my dad was diagnosed with vocal cord cancer, causing him to put a pause in his life. Watching someone you love face a disease that threatens not just their health, but their voice is something I’ll never forget.

Thankfully, after treatment that included 6-weeks of daily radiation, and a long road of recovery, my dad is now cancer-free. We are beyond grateful. But that journey opened my eyes to how many people aren’t as fortunate as we were and people who don’t catch it early, who can’t access specialized care, or who don’t even know the warning signs until it’s too late.

That’s why I’m running the San Diego 50-Mile Trail Race on January 10, 2026, to raise $2,500 for vocal cord cancer awareness and support. This run is a physical and mental test for me, but it’s nothing compared to what cancer patients and their families go through.

The money raised will directly support the Head and Neck Cancer Alliance helping fund early detection programs, patient resources, and education campaigns that save lives.
