Support Harvey's Hospicare Footbridge Project

Hello: My name is Harvey Kay and I am currently a Life Scout in Troop 48. I am working on my Eagle Scout Project, which is the final step towards achieving the Eagle Scout rank, the highest and most prestigious rank in scouting.

For my Community Service Project, I am partnering with the Ithaca Hospicare, a palliative and hospice care home that helps residents suffering from serious illness and provides comfort and support to those facing end-of-life. l will replace the bridge on the walking trail in Hospicare's gardens, which are used by Hospicare's residents and their family members to find a peaceful and calming escape into nature. The trail is also open to use by the local community.

To accomplish the above, I am organizing and leading the work project during the summer of 2024 involving many youth and adult community members. I expect work to take place over a period of roughly four weeks, involving hundreds of work hours and an expenditure of approximately $1100 in hardware, tools, supplies, and food for the volunteers. In addition, I hope to raise a $500 fund-raising donation to the Ithaca Hospicare.
