Throughout the year and across the globe, HALO employees give back to the communities in which we operate. Through company-sponsored volunteerism, financial contributions, and in-kind donations, we are committed to leaving positive, enduring impact on our neighbors near and far.
In the winter months each year, team members organize to make wishes come true by purchasing holiday gifts for children living near our offices in Illinois, Michigan, Washington, and Wisconsin.

Each dollar that you donate will fund the purchase of holiday gifts for children living nearby our offices nationwide.
OUR ASK OF YOU
Donate what you can to meet our goal of buying gifts for 100 children. With 100 children at a $100 per child gift limit our total goal is $10,000. To achieve that we aim for an average $7 donation from each employee. More is always welcome!
WHO WE ARE HELPING
Local children submit their wish lists through partner organizations near our offices in Illinois, Michigan, Washington, and Wisconsin. From there, HALO commits to sponsor 100 children in the form of funding, purchasing, and delivering gifts back to the partner organization.
In our Illinois office, we have a long-term partnership with the local YWCA: YWCA of Sauk Valley (https://www.ywsauk.org/). Once we have sponsored all children in the YWCA's care we will add more from social services organizations in surrounding communities.
In Michigan, we are partnering The Guidance Center (https://www.guidance-center.org/).
In Washington, we are partnering with Friends of Youth (https://www.friendsofyouth.org/).
In Wisconsin, we are partnering with Children's Wisconsin (https://childrenswi.org/).
HOW IT WORKS
This year, participation is open to all HALO employees, globally. To achieve full participation this is how it works:
- Make a donation on this site
- Using your donations, HALO employee volunteers will embark on group shopping missions to purchase the gifts on the children's gift lists
- Gifts will be organized and delivered to the partner organizations
- The partner organization then distributes gifts to families
With each organization the format is slightly different, but the spirit and concept remains the same of sponsoring $100 per child to make holiday wishes come true!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What percentage of the donation goes to the children? 100% of the donation.
- What about the 2.9% fee charged by GoFundMe? HALO will donate 2.9% of all money raised of the $10,000 goal to ensure that your full donation goes to the children.
- What happens if we raise more than $10,000? All money will be donated. Any funds raised beyond the goal of $10,000 will go to funding additional children not yet 'adopted.' If we are fortunate to sponsor all remaining children, then giving will continue for similar programs in surrounding communities.
- Will we get updates? Yes, we will provide updates on our progress as well as document the great work of our volunteers as the purchase the gifts that you generously sponsored. To ensure privacy and safety, the children receiving gifts will not be shared.
- What if I am not a HALO employee? The fundraiser is open to anyone that is interested in making an impact this holiday season. Thank you for your interest!
