Hello! My name is Hadley Mueller, and I am currently a registered nurse working in the operating room at a Level 1 trauma center in Pittsburgh. After graduating from nursing school, I didn’t know where to start my career. I stumbled upon an OR nurse position for new graduates and applied. Three years later, I’m still working in the operating room, and I absolutely love it! I knew I wanted to change people’s lives in a tangible way, and surgery allowed me to do just that.
Over the past few months, I was looking for ways to utilize my knowledge and skills to give back to people in need, and I stumbled across Surgicorp on a random Google search. After reading over the mission and vision, I realized that this organization aligns with my values. I applied and got accepted to go on a trip to Zambia to bring surgical supplies and expertise to people in need of it. I have been incredibly blessed by circumstance and am lucky to have had the opportunity to seek higher education. I want to use my knowledge and hands-on skills to change lives beyond Pittsburgh. I anticipate that this trip will stretch my abilities and teach me to be a more resourceful nurse. If you desire to help fund my trip, I would greatly appreciate it! I would like to thank everybody who has supported me in my education and career. I’m looking forward to scrubbing and circulating in Zambia!
