Hello, my name is Dirrick Jennings and I am a retired U.S. Army Sergeant First Class. My wife and I are creating a program that will be known as the GLOBAL WAR ON TERRORISM ASSOCIATION (GWOTA). We're going to take this step to receive the necessary funds to kickstart this organization that will be so important to veterans and their families. The goal will be $5000 to help us soar into helping others.
A little about me... I served the nation for 20 years and attended multiple conflicts while serving. I am a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
During one of my rotations in Iraq, I became very ill after leaving from one base en route to another. I was flown into Landstuhl, Germany to the hospital, and after multiple tests, I found out that I had Multiple Sclerosis (MS). My wife became very sad and seriously concerned about my health and emotional well-being. What kept me motivated was my wife's drive to take care of me and still forward packages to my soldiers who were still fighting the war. To this very day, my wife is still taking care of soldiers currently serving and GWOT veterans. She does so with the money that we receive once a month. She doesn't have gainful employment because she and my daughter are currently taking care of me.
However, my wife has discussed with me about creating an organization that would help out other veterans and their spouses. I simply said, "You got this, ma'am!" So here is our attempt to continue the mission of taking care of other veterans.
