My name is Catarina McPhail, I am the youngest of 5 siblings and my family and I are working to raise funds for our beloved mother.

Our mother Guadalupe Villanueva, recently lost her home and all of her belongings to an electrical fire on 9.13.2025. Her teenage great-grandson was with her and with his quick thinking shut down all electrical current by flipping the breakers off and moved swiftly to get her out of the home and to safety until firefighters arrived. His great-grandmother was his #1 priority, and he is a hero of our family.

Guadalupe is an 83 year old (widowed) from San Antonio, Texas. She moved to Nebraska in the early 80's and made her home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. She put herself through training to become a CNA and put all efforts to purchasing the home that was consumed by the fire. It may not have been much to others but for her and her family....it was home. It was a safe place of comfort for all to gather and share meals, coffee and laughter and lots of joy for nearly 35 years.

It was the home you could go to when life got tough. She raised her 2 youngest children as well as helped to raise her grandkids and even great-grand kids in this home. Many cherished memories, collections of gifts, her clothing and appliances and food along with clothing and toys belonging to her grandkids were lost.

A home was found and all support big or small as well prayers are appreciated as we work to ensure that "Grandma's house" can become a reality again.
