A devastating fire has taken everything from Gregory Maxwell — his home in Pine Bush, nearly all of his belongings, and tragically, his beloved cat, who did not survive the fire.
Greg is a devoted husband of many years and a dedicated father to an adult child with special needs who depends on him every day. In a matter of moments, the place that provided safety, routine, and stability for his family was gone. Greg and his family are currently displaced and living in a hotel, facing uncertainty as they begin the long process of recovery.
Before becoming a police officer, Greg proudly served for many years in the United States Army, beginning a lifelong commitment to service. He has since spent approximately 20 years with the New York State Police, where he currently serves as an Investigator. Throughout his career, Greg has built a reputation as one of the most loyal, selfless, and dependable people you could ever meet someone who consistently puts others first and answers the call without hesitation. He has spent his life helping people through their worst days. Now, he and his family are living through one of their own.
The impact of this fire goes far beyond the loss of property. The emotional toll of losing a longtime pet, combined with displacement and the challenges of caring for a loved one with special needs, is overwhelming. Rebuilding will take time, resources, and support.
This fundraiser is intended to help ease both the immediate and long-term burdens Greg and his family are facing including temporary housing expenses, basic necessities, replacement of essential items, and the many unexpected costs that follow a house fire.
If you are able to donate, no amount is too small and every contribution is deeply appreciated. If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this page.
Let’s come together to support a man who has dedicated his life to serving others.
