I’m putting on a show! Introducing: GREENLIT Choreography Showcase
What is it?
GREENLIT is a courageous mixed-bill performance series that amplifies the Bay Area’s artistic voices with a focus on community growth, opportunity, and risk-taking. An open space for ideas that are old, new, evolving, and undiscovered. This informal showcase will present seven works by six Bay Area choreographers, investigating the poetry of T.S. Eliot, cycles of nature, the body’s relationship to rage, humanity in the digital age, and more.
Featuring work by Lauren Settembrino, Tracey Lindsay Chan, Tai Lum, Livanna Maislen, The Straw Dogs, and Alice Svetic.
Why the GoFundMe?
I decided it’s time to create opportunities in the same way I create art. Start to finish, top to bottom, I’m doing this on my own. It’s something I’m very proud of. It’s also very expensive.
By donating to GREENLIT, you’ll be directly uplifting independent movement artists — creating the space for them to share their points of view and show audiences previously undiscovered worlds. Indirectly, you’ll be supporting the inherently rebellious act of culture cultivation in a political chapter that defunds our precious performing arts.
Your financial support will help to cover the following expenses:
Rehearsal studio rentals, performance space, costuming, administrative work, and — most importantly — artist payment. No contribution is too small.
I wholeheartedly thank you for your support of both my community and me. And if you are not in a financial position to donate, I hope to see you at Zaccho Dance Theatre on May 29th and 30th! Tickets here.
