For more than a decade, the Hill Havurah community has partnered with Good Neighbors Capitol Hill to welcome refugee families to our neighborhood. Together, we have helped more than 180 families settle on Capitol Hill and in nearby communities by setting up apartments and providing essential supplies so families can begin rebuilding their lives.

Refugees continue to arrive in the DC area with little or no government support. Many of the families we assist today are Afghans with Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) who supported the U.S. mission in Afghanistan.

Hill Havurah volunteers help ensure that newly arriving families have the basics: food, bedding, toiletries, school supplies, mattresses, and bunk beds.
