I’m 26 years old. I’ve resided in the San Fernando Valley, California for the past 21 years of my life.
Originally from Jalisco, Mexico. I was blessed in 2016 to be granted DACA status and the ability to work with a work permit.
While actively working since 2018, every 2 years I am required to apply for a renewal of my DACA status and Work Permit, and pay application fees amounting to a couple hundred dollars each time I renew.
This year has been different. All my applications were sent in, and my fees were paid. I got a notification notice of my case and sent to the next step of biometrics. As the date of expiration on my current work permit and DACA status approached, I had yet to hear a decision on my case.
As of October, both of them have expired and with that, my ability to continue working.
I’ve completed my part of the process and all I can do now is wait. And now while still waiting, my only source of income was stripped away from me.
I am humbly requesting for your support in this unexpected financial hardship . Being a child of immigrants and an immigrant myself, my ability to access day to day resources that would help is limited.
Therefore, any contribution would help me directly with monthly living expenses I am not able to fully cover due to not being able to generate a steady income. Such as rent, car payment, insurance, utilities and other expenses that are necessary day to day. While also allowing me to continue to contribute to helping my family financially in various ways.
I truly believe that the Hispanic, immigrant, DACA communities across the USA contribute immensely to this country. I am forever grateful for every way I’ve been able to contribute to the community and benefit from it too!!
I hope you’re able to contribute to my cause. THANK YOU for your time and consideration.
