Help Preserve Glendale Cemetery – A Piece of Le Claire’s History
Glendale Cemetery, established in 1830, is one of the oldest and most historic landmarks in Le Claire. For nearly two centuries, it has served as the final resting place for riverboat pilots, veterans, and the founding members of our town.
Time, weather, and age have taken a heavy toll. Many gravestones have toppled, crumbled, or fallen into disrepair. These monuments are more than stones—they are pieces of our community’s story.
As a nonprofit cemetery maintained solely by volunteers, we have very limited funds. With the help of Corson Cemetery Restoration, a trusted preservation company, we are able to repair some of these historic monuments. But right now, we only have enough to restore 120 gravestones—a small fraction of what truly needs saving.
We are asking for your support to help us continue this important work. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward restoring and preserving the cemetery so that future generations can honor and remember the people who shaped Le Claire.
Together, we can make a lasting difference. Please consider giving today to help us save our historic cemetery.
