It is with heavy hearts that we share that our dear friend, neighbor and coworker Gio Johnson is being forced to leave the United States due to an immigration issue that doesn’t reflect the love, hard work, and deep roots he has established in this community. For years, Gio has been incredibly beneficial to our town—volunteering at local events, working hard, supporting community projects, and brightening every room he walks into. You may have seen him as the star of the show in many Entertainment, Inc! productions, working in his family’s store (Midwest Metaphysics) or diligently helping his co-workers at Williston State College. He is not just a resident—he’s family to so many of us.

This abrupt departure is not only devastating emotionally, but it also comes with overwhelming financial strain. We are asking for your support to help cover the costs of legal fees, relocation expenses, and short-term living needs as Gio is forced to leave the country he has called home for so long. Our goal is to raise funds to help cover:

• Legal counsel and appeals
• Travel and resettlement expenses
• Basic necessities as he starts over in a new place
• Continued communication and connection with loved ones here

Gio’s absence would be deeply felt by everyone who knows him, as he has touched so many lives with his talent and compassion.
