Street protests in Georgia by the "Shame Movement"

Georgia is undergoing another wave of anti-government protests and needs support from its international friends. (a short video explaining the situation as of Nov 18th)  The ruling party has failed to deliver on its promise to amend the constitution to introduce proportional voting system for 2020 elections. The government promised these reforms as a result of earlier anti-Russian and anti-occupation protests  in June, 2019. Back then, the government used disproportionate force to disperse the crowd during the "Gavrilov night", causing even more widespread demonstrations which in turn forced them to finally concede to reform the electoral system. This was taken as a major victory for the civic movement, at the heart of which was the "Shame Movement" consisting of citizen activists unaffiliated with any political parties. Yet, on November 14th, after months of apparent preparation for the constitutional amendment, the ruling party failed to pass it in the parliament. Since June, 2019, the Shame movement  (also known as "For Freedom" ) has brought out and united a diverse segment of population who simply want to see a change in the current unfair electoral system. Since the most recent failure by the government, the movement has resumed large-scale demonstrations , picketing the parliament until they agree to people’s demands. Today, the Shame Movement needs your help to sustain the protests. The demonstrations are ongoing day and night under freezing temperatures. The funds will go directly towards the organizers for provision of food, warm drinks, shelter, heating, and other necessary resources. Every bit of support is appreciate as these are crucial days for Georgian democracy.
