Support George and Shonda’s recovery journey

A week ago today, our lives were turned upside down. What we thought was a cold/flu turned into COPD and acute respiratory failure with hypoxia. He also had a mild heart attack (broken heart syndrome) due to the stress in his lungs. A stent has been placed in his heart. There is so much to be thankful for, but also a long road to recovery.

Shonda will now be his main caregiver, and he will be living with her for the foreseeable future. As most know, being a server doesn’t provide FMLA pay. Anything is appreciated during this time. Her goal, with support, is to get back to work as soon as her dad is well enough to be alone for a while.
