Support Genesis Project's New Home Transition

On the evening of July 31st Genesis Project was notified by our property manager that, after 10 years in this location, our lease would not be renewed and we are to vacate the property by October 31st at 5p. Notice was posted on our doors that night and officially received when we arrived the morning of August 1st.

We are thrilled to announce that Epiphany Lutheran Church graciously offered to lease their east side building to us! This is an incredible opportunity and will fit the needs of serving our community perfectly.

The next 64 days are going to be a whirlwind of fundraising and remodeling as the space has not been used in this capacity before.

We will be getting quotes on exact costs over the next 2 weeks but are expecting the costs to be around $75,000 to convert the electric and space from a 4 burner household stove kitchen into a full commercial kitchen capable of serving up to 280 hot meals each day.

Many have asked “what do you need?” and “how can we help?” and we are so grateful for you!! Right now Genesis Project needs the support of our community more than ever!! Prayers for wisdom and guidance and the financial support of our community to obtain this new location and cover the tremendous costs associated with moving all of the equipment from a space we have occupied for 10 years as well as setting up another commercial kitchen. Genesis Project is over 90% privately funded by our community and we are not a government agency nor supported by the government.

Genesis Project is committed to continuing to provide food, clothing, hydration and resources to anyone in need with compassion and a heart of grace and love. Loving people where they are at and establishing personal relationships to break down barriers. The loss of our lease is unfortunate, however since 2006, Genesis Project has operated despite any and all obstacles placed in our path. We have moved before, when our mission no longer fit the image of our location and came back stronger. It is our firm belief that we will again rise above this obstacle and overcome.
