Support Gaza: Urgent Aid for Deir Al-Balah
Donation protected
A Dose of Hope
With dried tears, with shrunken stomach's, with lost hopes, We are Gaza who are yet to Heal amongst the world.
Healing Gaza Trust is a campaign which aims to provide financial support for those in the Deir Al-Balah and surrounding areas.
World food programme issues an urgent warning that "Gaza needs food now" as hundreds of thousands of people are at risk of hunger.
With the Humanitarian aid blockade and no financial help to reach those in Gaza, Healing Gaza Trust has teamed up with residential volunteers in Deir Al-Balah to continue providing financial aid to the residents in Gaza. Our goal is to be able to distribute food, water, disinfectants, hygiene products, clothing and financial aid to purchase tents and pay for transportation whilst evacuating from camps to camps.
Cost of survival
Mohammed from Deir Al-Balah (19): "We need food, drink, and daily phone charging of $80 to $100. High cost of living Lack of chicken meat, milk, and eggs. Clothes shortage due to the closure of crossings. Fruits are not allowed from the beginning of Ramadan. All of Gaza cooks on wood. There is a shortage of many things, from special needs items to women's things. To purchase a tent has cost me $350. We are surviving hour by hour."
Wisam from Deir Al-Balah (17): "We live in more than one war, a war of hunger, a war of death, and a war of fear. Everything here is expensive. We live so hard that we cannot eat one loaf of bread that five children can eat. We die slowly, so we ask everyone who can donate to donate and not be stingy. Save us here. Our lives depend on you."
Food for People, Not for profit!
With charity organisations profiting from the people of Gaza, it is evident there is no help. Millions of faces are shown daily where the children of Gaza are malnourished due to charity organisations selling goods to merchants inside the strip. Tents from "Egypt Red Cross" are being sold for $350 dollars, Humanitarian food prices continue increasing. In North Gaza alone, there is nothing but Parsley being sold on the stalls. In Central Gaza, the Humanitarian aids are stolen to be sold at at a high price. In Deir Al-Balah alone, where evacuations are in affect, 1kg of cucumber (2 cucumbers) are sold for $20, Onions are priced at $15kg, peppers $15kg, flour is $12kg or $200 a bag, Grape vines $50kg, 100 litres of water is $50. This verified price does not even include the prices of protein.
Gas costs $100kg, firewood $2kg. To charge your phone costs $1 per hour.
This is evident that merchants are profiteering from those who are vulnerable in the Gaza strip. Each organisation has a fundamental responsibility to make sure the residents are fully aided but are instead using this oppertunity to grate more money from the people of Gaza. So whatever is being given by the people who donate is later being sold to those who seek aid.
