Support Garret and Kim on Their Journey

Donation protected
Garret Gifford was recently diagnosed with a degenerative disease called Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) in January 2025. He had surgery to repair his shoulder that he had injured while playing lacrosse. After he had surgery repairing his shoulder, we began to notice some cognitive issues that are usually not present with Garret, which led us through a series of tests that ultimately gave us the horrible diagnosis of CJD. While we are devastated by this news, Garret is a glass-half-full type of person and with his spirits still high, we have a goal in mind. We want to make sure Garret gets the most out of his life by completing as many items as we can on his bucket list.

If you would like to help contribute to Garret enjoying some of the items on this bucket list, it would mean the world to the entire Gifford family.

Bucket List:
  • Fishing trip with his old friends.
  • Visit Nantucket, where he spent his summers as a kid.
  • A trip to the East Coast to visit old family and friends.
  • A trip to St. Augustine, FL, to watch the Monarch Coyotes play in their spring travel games, where he helped coach.
  • Visit his middle child, Jack Gifford, in his new home in Nashville, TN.
  • Travel to the West Coast to see his oldest child, Charlie Gifford, and his soon-to-be wife, Makena, in San Diego.
  • Attend the Vail Shootout to visit all his old lacrosse friends. Garret and his college team, the Middlebury Black Panthers, have played in this tournament for the last 20 years.

His only catch is that his wife, Kim, accompanies him on these adventures.

While we do not expect to receive anything from anyone, if you would like to help us enjoy these places with Garret, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, everyone!
