My sister, Gail, lost her husband and her three daughters lost their father very suddenly in February 2026.

While trying to sort through grief, she also has to figure out the practicalities of finances on her part-time income. She is fortunate to be a homeowner; however, recently her sewer line collapsed and will cost at least $8,000 to fix. She is also trying to figure out how to get counseling and health insurance for herself and the girls. There was no life insurance except for a very small policy from her husband’s employer that she is waiting on.

Her girls are Jenna and Madison, both 21, and Emily, 15. They are pulling together during this difficult time, but there is a long road ahead to healing.
