Hello, my name is Katherine Gadsby and I am creating this for my husband and I and our 4 kids. I am the mother of a 12 yo Boy, 8 yo Boy, 7 yo Girl, and 6 mo Boy.

On Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 8PM, we had an electrical fire from an outlet catching fire when my son turned on his space heater. Fire Department told us it was from faulty wiring through the house. They shut the power off quickly after making sure the fire was out. Luckily he was awake to quickly respond and grab my husband and I. The fire started right where he lays his head! Had he been sleeping, and he's a heavy sleeper, we would've been badly burned or even worse the unthinkable! Definitely not a side any child should go through or any parents if the worst happened. We are very lucky to have him! The fire destroyed my oldest son's bed, clothes, toys, and valuables and all his things. Everything in our house destroyed due to smoke damage. We were advised to throw it all out. We have no power in our home and were told we can no longer live there and need to re-home our family. The landlord hasn't offered to fix the issue in the house, help re-home our family or replace anything that was lost. We are working with Red Cross and waiting for responders to get into touch with us but until then we have to figure out our next move, where we will live, replace all of our clothing, beds and bedding, everything we have lost, etc. We hate to be even asking for help and donations but at this time we are very limited to our resources.
