Help Gabby Close the Chapter on Her Past

Hello everyone, my name is Racheal, and I’m the proud mom of a brave almost seven-year-old girl named Gabby.

Six years ago, Gabby’s biological father was sentenced to prison for felony child abuse with intent to harm. Because of his actions, Gabby lives with permanent disabilities and faces a lifetime of medical complications. She endures frequent hospital visits, therapies, and long-term care—yet she remains one of the strongest, most joyful kids I’ve ever known.

Our goal has always been to give Gabby the fresh start she deserves. Earlier this year I filed a petition to terminate the parental rights he doesn’t deserve to have and to change Gabby’s last name so she no longer carries the name that reminds us of those painful early memories.

Why We Need Help Now

Just as we neared the finish line, Gabby’s abuser contested the petition from prison. My attorney—who has generously worked with us on a payment plan—must now prepare for an unexpected hearing, submit additional filings, and appear in court. This requires an additional legal fee of $2,500.
