My name is Stacy and I am raising funds for my daughters, Gabby and Valeri, and I to go visit my husband, their father, in Mexico. He left on 11/6/2021 to Mexico for his medical exam and interview with the US Consulate. We were told this process could take up to a couple of weeks of him being gone. On Monday, November 13th, 2021, my husband called me crying hysterically and barely able to speak the words “I was denied as a health risk”. My heart sank as I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! My poor husband in a country he left 23 years ago when he was 17yrs old to come here so he could help support his family! Our girls, What do I tell them? What do I do? I was beyond devastated and heartbroken! I was so scared! This has been so hard emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially! The stress and heartbreak, the exhaustion and worry were overwhelming! My husband went back to the US Consulate a year later and passed the health evaluation and passed the interview only to be told a new hardship waiver is needed from me. This was already filed and approved by the Department of Immigration and it doesn’t expire, and yet the Department of State says we want a new one. To file this again with him out of the country costs almost triple than when he was in the country. It took everything we had yet we did it and requested it to be expedited. After making call after call to immigration, we found out it was received, but the soonest it will be reviewed will be April of 2027. Another stab to the heart! So many milestones are being missed, like Graduation, College tour, college move in, sporting events, birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays! The heartbreak doesn’t get any easier for any of us, especially these poor girls who just want their dad home and part of their lives! With him being out of the country, it took a long time to get a passport for Valeri approved! Now that we have the passports, we really need help with money to get there and stay for a little while. They don’t have extra beds, blankets, and food for us, so we need to provide these items to stay as well. Please, I ask of you to please find it in your hearts to donate and help me get these girls reunited with their dad and me my husband for at least a couple of weeks!
