My name is Shelby Felder and I am one of the current students in the Team Academy. We need your help to raise money for future backpacking trips!

The Team Academy is a one of a kind public school alternative, outdoor education program. It runs out of Archie Williams High School. It is an experiential learning model that combines the following: Backpacking, hiking, community service, internships, rock climbing, wilderness medicine, and academic courses in a cohort model environment. It is the ONLY public school program of its kind.

Friends of the Team Program is a non-profit that helps support Team so we can keep backpacking year after year. This year we DOUBLED in size and we need your help to keep Teamies backpacking for years to come.

Team means a lot to me because it gives me the chance to learn in ways that go far beyond a normal classroom. Through backpacking, hiking, community service, and internships, I’ve learned how to work with others, solve problems, and step outside my comfort zone. Being part of a close cohort has helped me build strong friendships and confidence in myself. Team has helped me grow not just academically, but as a person, by teaching me responsibility, leadership, and resilience in real-world situations.

I’m raising money for senior year trips and to help all future Team classes keep backpacking.

Our school district does not pay for any of our trips. We must fundraise for all gear, wilderness guides, transportation, permits and more! We couldn’t do this without your support. We hope to keep Team alive for decades to come and can only do it with your support. KEEP TEAMIES BACKPACKING and help us to continue to grow and gain infinite wisdom from the wild!
