Friends of South Africa (FSA) is a community of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers dedicated to uplifting the partners and communities that shaped our service. Our work spans health, education, and small business development, with deep roots in HIV/TB initiatives through PEPFAR and USAID. Many of us found that we learned far more from our South African counterparts than we ever expected—and those relationships have lasted a lifetime.

This Giving Tuesday, FSA is raising funds to help RPCVs stay connected to impactful, community-led projects in both South Africa and the United States. Your support allows us to reinvest in civic engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, and the ongoing spirit of service that continues long after our Peace Corps tours end.

We are also excited to share that FSA will once again host Peace Corps South Africa’s Annual “Shark Tank”-style Pitch Competition—PROJECT PITCH—coming July 2026 (exact date TBD). After incredible feedback from this year’s event, we’re thrilled to bring it back and continue spotlighting innovative community projects.

Project Pitch gives current PCVs the chance to present their project ideas, while RPCVs get to vote on the winning proposal—directly investing in the next generation of impactful, community-driven work in South Africa. Donating today means you’re not just giving; you’re helping to launch projects with real, lasting impact.
