Freedom Ride Rescue committed to bringing Monroe and her brother into our rescue ... and while we were working on their freedom ride from Western NC, the owner's dog attacked her, injuring her eye. Urgent care sent her home with pain meds and a prognosis that the eye needed to be removed. Unfortunately, her owners could not afford the surgery at urgent care, so FRR expedited getting her to Raleigh and into surgery the very next day.
Her eye was barely connected and very infected ... but Complete Pet Care was able to remove it. She is on pain meds, and we are watching the other eye closely: because of the delay in care, the infection in the optic nerve MAY have affect the GOOD eye.
Monroe's fosters say she is very cuddly and sweet ... and was in SUCH horrible pain before the surgery.
Every donation helps create a brighter future for these deserving pups. Together, we can contribute to a no-kill state and promote responsible pet ownership through education and advocacy.
