Hi everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I am the Intake Coordinator for Freedom Ride Rescue an all breed dog rescue in Raleigh, NC. On Tuesday, June 2, we took in three beautiful pups from a rural shelter in North Carolina. Things turned deadly very quickly for these sweet babies. We heard the word we never want to hear in rescue.....Parvo. Thanks to the quick action of sweet Leroy's foster family, we are hoping we caught this early enough to treat. It will be a hefty vet bill, but we will always try everything we can to save a life.
Three Tiny Lives Need Your Help
An emergency fundraiser for a puppy fighting parvo — and two other pups from the same shelter who may be next
Parvo is one of the deadliest viruses a puppy can face. Without immediate veterinary treatment, survival rates drop dramatically. Time is everything.
Today, a sweet little puppy began showing the heartbreaking signs — lethargy, vomiting, a refusal to eat. The diagnosis came back: canine parvovirus. Right now, this tiny soul is fighting for every breath, receiving monoclonal antibodies, IV fluids and around-the-clock care just to make it to tomorrow.
But the fear doesn't stop there. Two other puppies from the same shelter were exposed before anyone knew what was happening. They are being monitored closely, but parvo spreads fast and hits hard — especially in puppies too young to be fully vaccinated. We may be looking at three battles, not one.
These puppies didn't ask for this. They only know how to love, play, and trust the humans around them. Please help us give them a fighting chance.
