A Pottery Studio & Community Art Center.
A Free Art School for local children in San Marcos La Laguna, Lake Atitlan Guatemala.
Espiral is a currently forming non profit organization that focuses on providing Free Art Supplies, Art Classes, Creative Education, and Artistic Work Opportunities to the local children and community members of San Marcos and neighboring communities around Lake Atitlan Guatemala.
The Current Project Focuses on building a community pottery studio and art center that will be open to the public and many tourists that visit the lake. People can come learn new skills & crafts, sit in an artistic focused environment and enjoy the benefits of a fully functional art studio. During a certain amount of set times per week the studio closes to the public and becomes a free art school for the local children and community members. Teaching them crafts, English lessons, Artistic Skills. Employing local community members and parents as art & pottery teachers.
We are asking for donations to help with
- Build out of the studio space. Lighting, ventilation, kilns, wheels, glazes, & all other needed materials to create a fully functional pottery / Art Studio.
- Space Rent and Leasing fees
- Nonprofit registration fees
- First Year of salaries of the teachers.
- Art Supplies for the Children & Materials for classes.

This is a community heart led project and it’s been beautiful to see us all come together and build something that wasn’t as accessible before. Art is Healing. Art creates Community and Connection. At Espiral we believe every child deserves access to art and to be able to enjoy being creative. The kids will take it from here, knowing we want to see them thrive creatively.
