I am organizing a community donation drive and family-centered gathering through OPPO, a developing platform dedicated to supporting foster youth, families, and the professionals who work within the child welfare system. The event will take place on July 11, 2026, at Estabrook Park and will benefit Robyn's Nest at Children's Wisconsin, an organization that provides vital support to youth and families experiencing crisis and instability.
This event is inspired by both my personal experiences and the realities I witness through my work in the community. I have seen firsthand how many foster youth and vulnerable families often go without consistent emotional support, resources, or opportunities to simply feel seen and cared for. My goal is to create an event that brings the community together in a positive and meaningful way, while also giving back directly to organizations already doing important work for children. The event will feature donation collection efforts, family-friendly activities, community engagement opportunities, food, and volunteer involvement. I hope it becomes more than just a fundraiser — I want it to feel like a safe, uplifting community space centered around compassion and connection.
At this stage, funding support will help cover important event-related costs such as park and vendor fees, food service supplies, activity materials for families and children, tables and chairs, printing and outreach materials, and other logistics needed to successfully host the event. Since OPPO is still in the early stages of growth, community sponsorships and partnerships make a huge difference in helping bring this vision to life. Your support will help us create a welcoming space for families and children, and make a real difference for those experiencing crisis and instability. Thank you for helping us build something meaningful for Milwaukee.
