Hi there! My name is Ukwuoma and I'm fundraising for my two comrades and former coworkers at Access Reproductive Care - Southeast who were recently impacted by the organization's layoffs. This moment in movement has been extremely painful and disheartening, seeing funders and supporters disinvest from community work that is sustaining pregnant folks in the Deep South. ARC is feeling the very real material consequences of maintaining solidarity in a capitalist world. These layoffs are by no means a reflection of ARC's commitment to organizing or reproductive justice, but rather the byproduct of this political moment. Duke and Sierra, ARC's (now former) organizing team members have sustained programmatic and community work to actualize reproductive justice in the Deep South. From supporting community directly with hundreds of thousands of dollars of Free Plan B (through a donation from Plan B One Step) to holding containers for abortion havers to connect and build with each other, their commitments are examples of the organizing this moment needs.

Now, it's community's turn to support them. Plainly put, this is not a great time to not have income or health insurance. To support them in the interim, please contribute anything you can. All proceeds will go to supporting them in paying bills and sustaining themselves while they figure out their next steps. Donations will be split evenly between Duke and Sierra.
