On Wednesday, November 4, my one-year-old niece Zenaida suffered a severe accident that left her with serious burns across her body. She is currently receiving specialized care at a hospital in Santa Clara, where she must undergo cleaning treatments for her burns every three days. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, as we watch Zenaida fight through pain and begin her long road to recovery.

Zenaida is a beautiful, happy, and outgoing baby girl who brings so much joy to everyone around her. Her parents are by her side every day, but this means her dad cannot work and her mom is focused on caring for Zenaida and her siblings. The costs of travel to the hospital, daily living expenses, and supporting the family during this crisis are quickly adding up. With rent, car payments, food, and other household bills coming due, the financial strain is overwhelming.
