Xavier Gillen is a bright, courageous 20-year-old who has already faced more than his fair share of challenges. Born with cerebral palsy, Xavier has shown incredible strength and resilience throughout his life. Recently, his journey took another difficult turn when he was admitted to the hospital with fluid in his lungs and a mass in his chest. After countless tests, procedures, and time spent in a medically induced coma, Xavier was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer and a germ cell tumor in his chest.

While his family waits for the next steps in his treatment, they know the road ahead will involve chemotherapy, additional surgeries, and many obstacles along the way. Xavier’s parents, Nick and Monique, and his brother Hamilton are by his side every step of the way, supporting him through this fight.

To help ease the financial burden of mounting medical expenses and allow the Gillen family to focus on Xavier’s healing, we are rallying together as a community. CrossFit Prior Lake is hosting a 5K fundraiser on October 25th, and this GoFundMe has been created for those who would like to support from near or far.

Every donation—big or small—will go directly to the Gillen family to help with medical bills not covered by insurance, including a possible in home care provider, travel costs and parking fees for hosptial visits, and the many unexpected expenses that come with a cancer diagnosis.

Xavier has always inspired those around him with his determination and positivity. Now it’s our turn to stand beside him and his family in this fight.
