A dear friend of mine — a strong, amazing single mom from Woodbridge — has been feeling unwell for the past few weeks. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse last night, and she had to undergo emergency surgery.
She’s one of the hardest-working people I know, juggling two part-time jobs just to keep a roof over her and her 10-year-old daughter’s heads. They live in a small rented basement apartment, and right now, she’s facing one of the toughest moments of her life.
With recovery ahead, she won’t be able to work for a while — and since her jobs don’t provide paid time off, she’s left worrying about how to cover even the basics. Rent for November ($1,400), bills (around $500), and daily necessities are already adding up, and the stress is becoming overwhelming.
And that’s not even counting the massive hospital bills that will eventually come from her emergency surgery — something we can’t even begin to think about right now.
For now, we’re keeping her name and photo private, out of respect for her and her daughter’s privacy during such a vulnerable time. Those close to her know how proud and independent she is, and we want to protect her dignity while still doing everything possible to support her.
She’s always been the kind of person who pushes through and never asks for help, but this time she truly needs a hand. ❤️ Myself and a few neighbors are doing everything we can, but we won’t be able to cover all her needs on our own.
If you feel moved to help, any amount — big or small — would mean the world to her and her little girl. Even just sharing this post can make a difference.
From the bottom of our heart, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers.
