Christina & Tyler were expecting twins to be born November 6, 2020. Christina’s pregnancy was high risk because of having multiples and having a history of high blood pressure. Unfortunately, Tyler is currently their primary bread winner, as Christina has been unable to work because of the high risk pregnancy. Therefore Tyler was the only one working with a minimum wage job. When Christina was 31 weeks she was rushed to the ER in their hometown. Her and the babies lives were in danger. She was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and blood pressure levels sometime reaching stroke level. She was quickly transferred to a hospital in Kansas City, KS about an hour away from where they lived. So Tyler joined her in Kansas City. There she was hour by hour. Tyler stayed by her side day and night. On September 15, 2020 Chance and Scarlett were born at 32 weeks 4 days. Chance weighed in at a whopping 3lbs 14oz and his little sister topped the scales at 2lbs 13.5oz. These two have quite a while to spend in the neonatal intensive care (NICU). According to Dr’s their stay can be 6 weeks or longer. The NICU where the babies are at is over an hour away from Tyler & Christina’s home. The twins need their Mommy & Daddy to visit everyday for critical skin to skin contact. Christina was released from the hospital on September 19, 2020. While Christina was in the hospital Tyler was feeling very tired, but it was chalked up to being in the hospital with Christina and being a new daddy. On September 20, 2020 Tyler was forced to go to Urgent Care as he was pale, run down, and having trouble catching his breath. He didn’t go to the ER or hospital because of not having any health insurance. A few hours later he received a phone call from the Urgent Care Dr telling him he needed to go to the ER immediately! His red blood cells, (RBC), white blood cells (WBC) and platelets were dangerously low. We just didn’t know how low until we got to the hospital. When we got to the hospital, according to the dr he was missing 3/4th of his blood. He only had about 1/4th of the blood he should have had. They admitted him into the hospital immediately and started blood transfusions. They soon discovered that the reason for the blood loss was his bone marrow has quit producing blood. They also found out that after 2 units of blood his RBC, WBC and platelets were still to low. The hematologist/oncologist decided he needed to be transferred to Kansas City, MO to a hospital more equipped to deal with his symptoms and to do a bone marrow biopsy. He is still currently in the hospital in Kansas City in critical condition in and according to the Dr’s with an anticipated stay of 4 weeks or longer. With a lengthy recovery time at home to build up his immune system, his blood supply and energy level before he can return to work. The only diagnosis being offered at this time is possible Aplastic Anemia or Leukemia, either could be life threatening. On September 22, 2020; which just so happens to have been Tyler’s 23rd birthday; Christina got readmitted to the hospital in Kansas City, KS for dangerously high blood pressure. Where she is still at currently.
So Tyler is in a hospital in Kansas City, Mo, Christina & the twins are at another Hospital in Kansas City, KS and the other 3 children are at home over an hour away. With Tyler being the only one employed and in the hospital, 2 Babies in the NICU and Christina in the hospital, they could really use your help and prayers for their family to be reunited. We are hoping that Tyler will possibly come home from the hospital at least by the time the twins do.
