Support for Tommy Shala, in the Loss of Zef Shala

Dear Friends, Family and Community Members,

On August 4, 2025, the Shala family was struck with the sudden and unexpected loss of beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend, Zef Shala.

For those who knew Zef, you knew a man full of kindness, unrivaled wit, humor, love, and a true passion for life. He was always just a phone call away - ready to help, support, and offer his generosity. He had a unique way of showing he cared, often giving thoughtful gifts simply because he “saw it, and thought of you.”

His passing has left a huge hole in the lives of everyone who knew him, but none more profoundly than his wife Viki and their children Julia (19), Eva (15), and Tommy (12).

Zef worked tirelessly to support his family, while Viki provided special care for Tommy, who was diagnosed with Level 3 Autism at a very young age.

During this difficult time, we humbly ask our community to come together in support of care for Tommy. Helping Viki, Julia, and Eva means helping to ensure that Tommy receives the best possible care and that their family remains strong despite this tremendous loss.
