Our Family Needs Help After a Tragic House Fire
In the early hours of Tuesday January 20th, my brother Tom Evans and his two kids Thomas and Ruby experienced an unimaginable tragedy. Their home was completely destroyed in a fire, and in the devastation, they lost all of their belongings and beloved pets, who were truly part of their family. The grief from this loss alone is overwhelming.
The fire also took everything belonging to my 86 year old mother, who lived in the in-law suite my brother had built for her. In a matter of moments, she lost her home, her personal belongings, and the things she had accumulated over a lifetime.
My brother is a business owner, and the fire didn’t just take their home — it took everything. Their belongings, tools, equipment, personal items, and the sense of safety and stability they worked so hard to build are all gone. They were left with nothing but the clothes they escaped in.
Right now, they are facing:
Immediate housing and living expenses
Replacing clothing and basic necessities
Loss of business equipment and income
The emotional toll of losing their home and pets
If you know my brother, you know how hard he works and how much pride he takes in providing for his family. Asking for help does not come easily, but right now they need the support of their community to begin rebuilding their lives.
Any donation — no matter the amount — will go directly toward helping them secure housing, replace essentials, and recover from this heartbreaking loss. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this post to help spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, love, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time. ❤️
