My name is Karissa, and I’m creating this fundraiser for TJ (Thomas Adkins), his wife, their young son, and their soon-to-arrive newborn. Their home in Western Washington has been severely damaged by recent flooding and windstorms.
The basement—where the children’s rooms were—was destroyed by floodwater. Soon after, a windstorm caused a tree to crash through their roof, destroying the attic and leaving the home unsafe. The family is now confined to the second floor, the only livable space left.
TJ’s wife is eight months pregnant, and with more storms on the way, they urgently need a safe place to stay. They’ve been denied assistance from FEMA, the Red Cross, and local programs due to income and family-size criteria, and insurance is severely delayed because thousands of families in the region are also displaced.
I’ve been reaching out within my community to gather essentials like a crib, clothing, and toys to replace what was lost, but the biggest need right now is temporary housing.
Our Goal
We are raising $5,000 to help cover:
- Short-term rental housing
- Utilities
- Basic living expenses while their home is repaired
Any amount helps this family find safety and stability during an overwhelming crisis. If you can’t donate, sharing this page makes a huge difference.
Thank you for supporting!
