Katie and Kyle have already weathered more challenges than most families face in a lifetime. After years of infertility, IVF, and heartbreaking miscarriages—followed by Kyle’s battle with cancer this year as well—they finally conceived their miracle baby.

Now at just 22 weeks, Katie’s water unexpectedly broke. She now faces a long, high-risk hospital stay with constant monitoring, fighting every day to keep herself and their baby girl healthy and safe. Her hospital room has become a home away from home for the weeks—possibly months—to come, while Kyle holds down the fort at home with their two-year-old, Cam.

What was supposed to be a joyful, exciting second half of pregnancy has turned into a season of uncertainty, emotional strain, and physical exhaustion. And once their baby girl arrives, she will almost certainly require an extensive stay in the NICU to receive the specialized care she needs.

As a self-employed small business owner, Katie will have no income during this time, and the medical and living expenses are overwhelming.
