Support for the Warwick University Student Encampment 2025

We are Warwick Stands with Palestine - a cross campus coalition of student and staff organisations based at Warwick University.

On early Wednesday morning, we set up camp on the green outside FAB. Over 500 students and staff have signed an open letter to the university, students and staff unions have voted overwhelmingly and repeatedly for the university to break these ties, we’ve held rallies, sit-ins, vigils, and this will be our second encampment.

The University of Warwick has repeatedly ignored and repressed the will of students and staff to divest from arms companies, such as BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce. Many departments at Warwick have ties with the military-industrial complex – in fact, the University has research contracts worth over £100 million with the world’s largest manufacturers of weapons. 

For these reasons, we are taking matters into our own hands. We call for the termination of the University's partnership with Rolls-Royce in the HetSys-CDT and refrain from partnering with firms and companies that are involved in the development, testing and manufacturing of weapons.

As we enter into the 17th month of the genocide, over 52,000 Palestinians have been violently murdered. 2 million people in Gaza have been made completely dependent on humanitarian aid, but no aid has entered Gaza since March 2nd due to blockades by Israel. On top of this, Netanyahu has claimed that he will keep destroying the homes of Palestinians until they have nowhere left to go.

We are here to show that the students, staff and community of Warwick support Palestine wholeheartedly. Following the steadfastness of our Palestinian comrades, students and staff will not stop pushing for the university to divest from companies complicit in war crimes, occupation, and genocide. We urge all of you to come to the encampment to see the many ways you can join us. Together we are stronger. 

This encampment is not possible without your support and donations, last year we managed to raise nearly £5,000 thanks to generous donations. We hope to achieve this goal (or even pass it) this year.
