On March 21, 2026 at approximately 1 am, Vanessa, Diego Torres and daughter Mika suffered a devastating house fire that destroyed their home, their belongings, and are dealing with long term effects of smoke inhalation. The emotional and financial impact is overwhelming. They are now facing the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.


All funds raised will go directly to the family to meet their immediate needs. At this time, their most urgent needs are medical care, securing a safe place to live, replacing essential items such as clothing, toiletries, household necessities, and medical bills. Vanessa is a graduate of GHS, the former nurse at Vado Elementary and the current Coordinator of Nursing for GISD. Vanessa and Diego participate in numerous community outreach activities through their church. The Torres family is thankful for the miracles that have already occurred, and for the outpouring of prayers and support.
