Support for the Saxon family

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news our dear Sam Saxon crossed the threshold on Friday, March 27, 2026. He is survived by his two sons, Sebastian and Dimitri, and daughter, Lexi.

We are here, as Sam’s community, raising our hearts and voices for you to join us in helping the Saxon family whom suffered tremendous losses in the past eight months—the loss of both mother and father to cancer. Your contributions will help support their young boys ages 13 and 10.

Sam left us after battling cancer for six+ years. Seven months ago in August of 2025, he lost his wife, Dawn, to breast cancer. Their boys are now orphans.

If you knew Sam, you know he was always ready to wield the wrench in his back pocket to fix a friend’s plumbing or slap some sense into a disobedient dishwasher. He would haul junk to give a neighbor peace of mind, patch holes, and secretly weed whack yards when friends were out of town. He was an amazing father and grandfather always hands-on and adventurous.

Dawn was the first one to lead the charge in meeting community needs no matter how obscure they were: meal trains, school cleaning and fundraising, afterschool pick-ups, petsitting, neighborhood smores cookouts, feeding our children, freezing nights at Fort Ross, and so much more.

They held us. It is now our chance to hold them if we can.

Our goal is to provide stability for the boys while they transition into the care of their maternal grandmother and sister who is currently 7 months pregnant. We want to make sure they are living through this moment and not just surviving. The donations will go towards paying the immediate needs of the boys (clothes, food, doctor visits, school supplies, sweet treats, and lunches) as well as the big items mom and dad are no longer around to provide (mortgage, water, electricity, school, and groceries).

Thank you for sharing in the life of Sam Saxon. We hold him and his family in our prayers.
