Hi! I’m Ashely, one of Gloria’s nieces, and I’d like to introduce to you my Aunt Gloria! Gloria, a Bath County native, has dedicated her life to the care of others. The true glue to our family! After losing her daughter at a young age, she set about helping raise her two granddaughters all the while working tirelessly for 50 years at the Inn at Gristmill Square. For the last 20 she has been a leader in the kitchen at the Waterwheel, and is part of the team that creates the most wonderful dishes for the Inn and Restaurant guests. Gloria’s husband Teddy was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (mouth cancer). Leading to surgeries and radiation. Just when they thought the cancer was removed, treated, and gone for good, it has come back. Because of this devastating diagnosis, Gloria has been out of work to care for her family, and is falling deeper into debt with outrageous hospital bills plus other day to day expenses that don’t stop while her world turns upside down. With so many in this world dealing with death and devastation, we hate to be yet another request for help. If you’ve ever enjoyed a meal at the Waterwheel Restaurant, an overnight stay at the Inn or had the pleasure of just knowing Gloria, we’d be so grateful if you could find it in your heart to support her in this time of need.
