Support for the Parry-Jeromes

If you know the Parry-Jerome family, you know they embody generosity, deep care, and sacrificial love for their family, friends, and community. In recent weeks, the Parry-Jeromes have encountered both unforeseen hardships and moments of immense joy.

I am using this platform to humbly ask you to consider blessing the Parry- Jerome family financially. The hope is to alleviate some of the financial impacts of the work accounts lost while Christine was in the hospital and provide some reprieve as Trav's capacity to work has been reduced.

Below is their story, as told by a grateful and proud younger sister.

Early morning Friday, June 9th, Christine and Trav loaded up Jack and headed to the hospital. Christine, 27 weeks pregnant, knew "something was wrong." St. John’s Hospital admitted Christine. Labor was delayed to administer steroids to the baby’s lungs before the premature birth. We all waited excitedly and anxiously, knowing the baby would arrive anytime in the following days.

On Sunday, June 11th, baby girl reached 28-weeks. Noa June Jerome Parry entered the world at 8:15 p.m., through a cesarean section. Noa graced our lives, weighing a delicate 2 pounds 12 ounces, a resilient preemie. Our hearts and lives are forever changed by the arrival of our sweet, Noa June!

Post-birth, Christine experienced significant complications. The surgical team performed an emergency hysterectomy. Surgery continued for several hours while specialists worked to locate the source of Christine’s bleeding. Christine endured an extraordinary loss of blood, necessitating the transfusion of more than 22 units of whole blood during the operation.

After several hours of surgery transferred, Christine to the intensive care unit. Christine continued to bleed while the source and cause of hemorrhaging eluded the medical team. Christine remained intubated in the intensive care unit for oxygen and continual monitoring.
According to the surgeons, intensive care unit, and maternity staff, she is "by an absolute miracle, still alive." Christine’s time in the intensive care unit marked several of the darkest of days for our family.

On Tuesday, Christine was taken off the ventilator, stable enough to move to the maternity ward the following afternoon.

On Monday, June 19th, Christine and Trav were discharged and came home from St. John's Hospital. Noa will remain in the ICU receiving care, most likely until the end of summer. Presently, Christine is tethered to a wound vac, to mitigate the risk of infection. Bi-daily travels to the hospital for wound dressing changes are a new part of Christine and Trav's routine. Trav's unwavering support has been nothing short of extraordinary, as he tends to Christine's extensive needs. Throughout the summer months, they will concentrate their efforts on Christine's healing while moving between home and the NICU.

Every act of kindness, regardless of the size, has been of significant impact on the Parry-Jerome family. Whether it be financial contributions, emotional support, heartfelt prayers, the provision of groceries, tending to the lawn, or caring for Aliah and Jack, each gesture exemplifies the epitome of compassion and is met with immeasurable gratitude.
