Support for the Oh Family

Dear Friends,

We are writing on behalf of our dear friend Shiho Oh, who just recently lost her beloved husband David Oh and her father Kiyoshi Inoue in a series of tragically unexpected medical events. Shiho is now left with the heavy burden of caring for three daughters; Ame (15), Nami (4), and Sora (2) as well as her mother Masako, who is well along in age. It is our hope that this GoFundMe page will help raise awareness for her family’s dire situation. If you feel so inspired, we encourage you to bless them through any means that you may have; whether it be a generous financial donation, emotional support, prayer, or perhaps lending your time, skills, or anything else outside of the box.

On November 1st, David was admitted into the ICU at Glendale Memorial Hospital, having suffered an aortic dissection. Over the course of the month of November, David endured multiple operations, including several open heart surgeries. For the entirety of the month, David fought bravely as his wife Shiho stood steadfastly by his side, both day and night. Their strength, faith, perseverance, and sheer willpower has inspired us all. David peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 28th at USC Hospital with his loved ones by his side.

In the midst of grieving the loss of her husband, Shiho was hit with yet another tragedy just ten days later. On Friday, December 8th, Shiho’s father Kiyoshi suffered a stroke and was admitted into the ICU at Kaiser Permanente in Hollywood. On December 11th, Shiho and her family said their final goodbyes to her father. Kiyoshi is survived by his wife of 50 years, Masako Inoue.

As you can imagine, the unexpected costs for funeral services can really add up, let alone two funerals at the same time. Additionally, Shiho had put her career on pause the last four years to focus on being a mom. As such, she isn’t employed at this time. 100% of the donations raised through this fundraiser will go towards the funeral expenses as well as the numerous immediate (and accumulating) expenses they are incurring right now including food, housing costs, childcare, and other crucial living expenses.

Also….please pray! Pray for comfort, peace, and rest for Shiho and her family – as well as God’s wisdom and discernment while making the multitudes of decisions required on a daily basis. Pray that they will feel God's overwhelming love, peace, and powerful presence during this time.

The family is DEEPLY grateful for the outpouring of love and support.
