Hi my name is Rachelle and Five of my daughters lost their father yesterday.
Josh and I met when he moved to California from Florida. He had two amazing 3 yr old daughters, that were from his first wife, that I was lucky enough to meet when they were 5 years old.
We had an 18 month old daughter together and I just had to have her meet her sisters.
I fell in love with Haley and Aliyah instantly. We moved to Florida 5 weeks after Charissa was born.
I needed my biological daughters to know their sisters. This was one of the smartest choices I have ever made. Josh loved his daughters.
Josh has always struggled with addiction. He went thru rehab twice in California for alcohol. He tried, I know in my heart he tried. He just could not stop.
We split up for a few years but my heart was always hoping that he could figure it out. We got back together after I saw him for thanksgiving in 2009. I was drawn to him and in January of 2010 we were pregnant with our last daughter. We now had five daughters to love in Florida.
Josh was still struggling with addiction. We were actively trying to save our family. We went to celebrate recovery meetings as a family. He went to AA and I went to al-anon. We decided that he needed in person treatment and he did it.
When he came home he had a new spark. Josh got baptized
He tried.
He loved his daughters and we were a family
I could not battle his demons and he could not stay clean.
Josh and I have been separated for about 9 years. He has never not loved his girls.
Josh lost his battle with addiction yesterday on October 28th, 2021
He leaves behind two sisters, one brother, five biological daughters, my daughter and son from previous relationships, nieces, nephews and countless friends that love him and have watched his pain and struggles for years.
I’m asking for help for my daughters. This loss is more than I would wish on anyone. No matter what happened, they all LOVED their Daddy.
Please find it in your hearts to help me help them
